- Platform Engineering: You build and evolve the internal platforms and self-service tooling that empower our developers to ship faster and more independently, think golden paths, paved roads, and a developer experience people actually enjoy. This is the heart of what we're building right now.
- Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC): You automate repetitive tasks, deployments, and system management to reduce human error and improve efficiency: from writing scripts and CI/CD pipelines to automating infrastructure provisioning.
- AI-Powered Tooling and Workflows: AI is part of your daily toolkit and part of what we build. You use AI-assisted tooling to move faster, and you help create AI-powered systems within our platform, from LLM-powered developer tools to autonomous systems like our AI SRE agent.
- Reliability and Performance Optimization: You continuously improve system uptime by identifying bottlenecks and optimizing system architecture.
- Capacity Planning and Scaling: You assess and predict system resource requirements (CPU, memory, storage) so the infrastructure scales with growing demand, and you implement auto-scaling solutions that handle load spikes without manual intervention: keeping systems performant under any conditions.
- System Monitoring and Incident Response: You monitor system performance, uptime, and reliability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch to catch issues before they reach users. When incidents happen, you respond quickly to minimize downtime, including incident documentation, communication, and post-incident analysis.
- Incident Postmortems and Continuous Improvement: You run root cause analysis after incidents to understand what went wrong and how to prevent it, then turn those learnings into fixes, improvements, and best practices that make the system more reliable over time. You build and evolve the internal platforms and self-service tooling that empower our developers to ship faster and more independently, think golden paths, paved roads, and a developer experience people actually enjoy. Your superpower(s)
- Tech stack (must-have):
- Kubernetes & container technology: you're comfortable running and operating workloads in production
- CI/CD: hands-on experience, ideally with GitHub Actions
- Cloud services: solid experience with at least one major provider (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure)
- Monitoring & observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, or similar
- Agentic engineering: you're familiar with AI coding tools like Claude Code or OpenAI Codex
- Communication Mastery: You communicate precisely and in a recipient-friendly way. You defuse potential conflicts with sensitivity and a solution-oriented mindset, and you always strike the right tone with stakeholders, developers, and your team — even under time pressure. Switching seamlessly between German and English is no problem for you.
- Collaboration Wizardry: You bring developers, stakeholders, and operations onto the same page. You understand the challenges different teams face and find solutions that benefit the whole company.
- Automation Sorcery: You champion automation as a way to save time and reduce errors, and you build tools that boost productivity across the team.

This might be your typical day at Digistore24:
- Morning video call to talk to your team about yesterday's progress and today's plans.
- You like to work in a structured way and outline your daily routine and daily goals. Like every day, you block out enough time to work on the continuous development of our SRE processes. You are not alone in this, but can count on the support of your team.
- Now it's time for the daily call with your team. You report on your priorities and blockers and receive tangible tips on how to solve your challenges.
- For the next few hours, you allow yourself the luxury of turning off all messengers in order to develop focused ideas for improvements in auto-scaling, monitoring and alerting. You then test your ideas in practice. You make a note of these success principles so that you can present them to the Head of IT Operations in a one-on-one call.
- After your lunch break, a developer needs help with a new CI/CD workflow. You discuss the requirements with him and provide him with an initial prototype.
- You take the ticket to check the resource allocation of an application, check the current utilization and adjust the deployment.
- You find an endpoint that is not yet included in the monitoring. After creating a ticket for this, you immediately write the code in the Terraform project to add it.
